Default Noisy diff after tracking

Is it normal for the diff to be a bit noisier after 2 track events? I am running Redline 75W90 in the rear and I notice that it is a bit noisier at slow speeds under balanced throttle. Should I perhaps consider Redline Shockproof?

Redline strongly discouraged me from using shock proof gear oil in a street car. They feel is just doesn't perform as well as their normal gear oil when not at full operating temp.

Great in cars that get the diff hot, and keep it hot, like racecars. Not good for daily drivers.

But to answer your question, I've never heard any diff noise, either with stock Honda gear lube or Mobil 1 75W90.

That doesn't sound good. When my diff got to making noise I had to eventually replace it. I drove and autoXed it for about 4 months after the noise started and it was just a little louder when it was replaced. I don't know how long it would have lasted.

I wouldn't run shockproof in the S2000 but I love it in my F2000's gearbox.

Thanks for the info. The car doesn't see much street time at all - about 80% track, 20% street. I am wondering if the 75W90 is thinning or if the rearend is going. I guess I could try Shock Proof for the next track event and see how it does.

It just kept whining or whirring under steady throttle or very light acceleration. It seems like it was easiest to hear in 3rd or 4th gear around 40 to 45mph. It was covered under warranty but Honda made it clear that it would not be covered a second time and they said at that time that ALL differential failures had been due to abuse. In my case they said it was due to the tight turns under power in autoX situations. Their claim was that you could not do tight turns with an LSD without damaging it. I did autoX the car for two years but I never did a single 0
