thanks a ton for posting pics up slowD!!

ive been in the middle of moving and havent been online for a bit. please let us know if you have any questions. there are a lot of guys running this same setup with our Rockstar bars.

our bulkhead replacement bars use the OEM bulkhead mounting points so no additional drilling is needed. this bar is much stronger than cutting the oem BH in half and looks way better too!

. . . I really want to keep the interior.

And we are talking about the shoulder belt with aftermarket seat

Do you pass tech with that?

I don't have a problem with you method of relocating the harness upper mounting points, however, routing the shoulder belts over the shoulder bolsters of the seat is a big red flag to me. There is the potential of them spreading wide and ejecting the driver in the event of a rollover, which is a big reason to use an aftermarket seat.

Actually the seats I'm looking at now are Arizen, which are specially made width-wise for miatas and corvettes . . .

. . . rockstar double diagonal lowered harness bar, and I wanted to get a seat to eventually run a harness with. This looks like the best bet to me, even if it's not FIA approved.

duffman13,
Yes is the short answer to me passing 'tech'

And your last words about FIA approval allude to the way we have to weigh all issues [cost, complexity, usage, risk, strength/etc] for our own safety. Ultimately we all have to sign a legal release form to participate in racetrack events. So our own confidence/safety is a personal matter at most [non-SCCA] events. I have made multiple improvements to my mostly street-legal S2000. The majority of these improvements were at my discretion, before my local car club required [extinguisher, 6-pt harness.] These same clubs are really cracking down on convertibles and roll-over integrity. Ironically, some car/racetrack clubs still allow any car [regardless of convertible-tops] to opt only for 3-pt DOT-style belts for time trial and 'open track' sessions. So it would seem that racetrack organizers are not of one mind.
I know what you mean about shoulder belts separating in a worst case scenario . . .
1. I just lowered my seat to pass the broomstick test
2. I re-located my harness-bar nearly 4-inches lower to factor in Schroth's anchor/angle recommendation.
3. I have made the mistake [twice] of closing my canvas convertible top after strapping in w/ my 6-pt-harness and found that however much I twist and squirm to get my shoulder free - - that ultimately I cannot free my arms to operate the roof-header latches. So that was reassuring for me.

Since there are substantial limits to keep the shoulder belts from sliding as they would on the original harness-bar, I think that I have sufficiently mitigated the pilot-ejection scenario - - but a sincere 'thanks' to you for that concern.

Rockstar roll bar with replacement bulkhead. Didn't read the whole post, but if thought I'd post this to see if it helps.

Thx. I think I will end up getting it. Seems that the stock belt isn't a problem with the rsg bulkhead
