If you have a rollbar you should have a harness. It will minimize the chances of your head hitting the bar in an accident. A 3pt and a bar is an invitation to disaster as your body can move around a lot more in a crash and your head can hit the bar as its much closer to your head than the OEM roll hoops.
Its true that a harness is a lot more restrictive if worn properly and will probably amplify neck loads in a crash, but I cannot prove that. On balance its my opinion that its going to be safer wearing a harness if you can than wearing a 3pt, but I can't prove that either.
Building a safe and fast track car is going to create a severely compromised street car be it a S2000, miata, or 911. That's just the way it is.

Strange - I don't believe I have those tabs on my bar (bought mine used).
Edit: Just checked the Hard Dog site - didn't know that was an option. Anway, I just ordered the seat belt guide brackets... going to have a local fabricator weld it on.
