jean, are you able to share the photos you took during the gutting process? If you are having issues, feel free to PM me and I can post them for you.

Do you think the benefit of gutting the power steering (which i assume is weight savings and potential feedback improvements) outweighs the benefit of more castor?
My thoughts exactly.
I'm a big fan of high camber on the S2k so this wouldn't work for me.

Gutted s2000 rack is considerably lighter in feel than simply remove eps fuse since internal motor create drag but when gutted the rack, no internal drag and feel was best and gone is the worst part of the stock s2000 rack ''video game artificial feel''

Wasn't near as bad as a rental spec Miata I had a year or so earlier. That car I flat couldn't get the steering in fast enough. I'm weird though, I don't like having feeling in the steering, the closer you can get it to a joy stick the happier I am, being able to go lock to lock like flicking your thumb is ideal.
This is exactly how I feel. Gutting EPS is the last place I'd look to save weight. Much more important to have complete confidence in your ability to correct a slide 30mins into a race than to save a few dozen lbs.

Guess I also don't need much steering feedback either. I've been driving long enough where my butt can tell me what the tires are doing.
