Default Removing Soft Top and Keeping Hard Top

Thought this would be the right place to ask. I've removed the soft top, but still plan on keeping the hard top. Did you guys buy the CR brackets that the soft top motor is mounted to on each side. I think if you just leave the bracket off, that the hardtop catchers won't line up. The bracket isn't think but it will still be off on each side. I think it is number 23 and 24 in the diagram below:

Basically the last bracket you unbolt that contains the soft top motors when pulling the top.

Thanks for the help.

Rockstar garage has brackets for bolting the HT right in place. I was going to get them but have been too busy to strip out the soft top.

This is the route I'm going with when I get a hardtop over winter.

Same here.

But, if you are using the stock roll hoops, I think the CR bracket is necessary to maintain the rigidity of the stock bulkhead and hoops though. See this thread and attached pic for details.

I hadn't thought of that since I am getting a roll bar and removing that, but I see what you're saying:

Thanks guys. I was planning on keeping the stock roll hoops for the time being. I might do a roll bar or cage later.

You can use the stock catchers in the rear with no soft top. you don't need the the CR brackets. You just have 2 of the 3 bolts holding the catcher in place. I've had my car like this for a year now. I dont have any problem with noise or water leaking like this.

You can see the driver side catcher in the picture held on by the 2 bolts. I can grab pictures of everything bolted up if you want:

I used the CR brackets for peace of mind. Honda designed and engineered the damn thing so you might as well stick to the original specs.

There is absolutely no need for the cr brackets. The brackets are essentially just a peice of the soft top frame they recycled into the car in order to have all 3 holes bolt up to their hardware brackets already in production.

Plenty of gutted cars run the race brackets we offer with no issues. I've run all setups available for the car.

If he has stock roll hoops, he needs the brackets as they support the bulkhead which supports the hoops.
