Default S2000 Challenge #6&7:Spring Mountain / Pahrump Time Trials and Track day: May 25-26th

Our next event is the weekend of May 25 & 26thth, 2002
Price: $120 one day/$220 2 day (+$20 per day instructor fee required for novices)

Duration: 2 day / 5 hours of track time per group!*

Track: Spring Mountain (near Pahrump, NV, 60 miles north of Vegas)

Registration: Registration is open

Event Info:

Spring Mountain is the very popular track out of which the Bragg-Smith driving school operates. Like the Streets of Willow Springs, it is a great layout for car and driver development, making it ideal for novices. As can be seen from the map below, SM offers both the opportunity for speed on the long straight as well as a good combination of high-speed sweepers and technical sections. We will be running the full course in the clockwise direction. At only a few years old, the track is one of the newest in the west, and has just recently been re-sealed for maximum grip.

Event headquarters for this event is the Pahrump Best Western, which has graciously offered reduced room rates for people attending this event. Just mention Wurth Motorsports when you register to take advantage of this offer.

see http://www.speedventures.net/5-25_event.asp for more info / online registration

what do you consider a "novice"?? Also, how are the run groups classed? By skill or just randomly?

A novice, for the purposes of requiring an instructor, is someone unfamiliar with on-track driving. If you've driven on the track before, and you're comfortable doing it alone, you don't need one.

Groups are classed according to skill level and car capabilities. For instance, a new driver in a Z06 will start in Yellow, and probably move up to White after a few sessions. A very fast driver in a Fiat 500 will probably always run in Yellow, White at the most. Just randomly classing groups would be pretty dangerous.

A bunch of us from the bay are going to this event, then going to vegas.

We're gonna drive up Friday, hit the track Saturday & Sunday, then go to Vegas for Sunday night, Monday, & Monday night. Finished off with a drive home on Tuesday.

It's gonna be a blast!

btw, legal prostitution w/in 15min of the track..........the "Monkey,er or Squirrel Ranch', or whatever they are called. they are actually building this huge resort hooker complex with 36 hole Championship golf course and jumbo jet airport. i was at the track a few months ago and one of the guys wife went and got the "menu" from one of the brothels.......her hair was a little ruffled, i don't know what else she got.

the track is 45 min from vegas....if u stay in vegas, try the west end of the strip to be closer.

"Our track consists of various different configurations within one 2.2 mile road course and has a 37 foot minimum width throughout. The length of the upper road course is 1.5 miles and has elevation changes totaling approximately 50 feet. It consists of seven corners, one of which is an exact duplicate of the hairpin at Mosport (corners 5A and 5B), known as Moss corner."
