well, i'm not really a beginner. this is my first time on the track w/ my S2k but I've time trialed my MR2 on several different tracks. Ofcourse, in that car (which started out non-turbo) the suspension and power needed the most attention. With the S2000, I noticed that the brakes and tires would need the most attention (IMHO). I think I'll go P+ and stock rotors.
another quickie....motul 6 vs. super blue ATE? and where would I get superblue ATE for cheap in so cal?
I've tried only motul 6 and that ford junk in my mr2. the motul 6 performed well....is it worth it to go blue?
Just an update, guys. We've got 17 S2000's registered, and a lot of space remaining (read "very little traffic"), so if you're interested, come on out!
I don't know how tough this track is on brakes, but the rear ones get very hot. Here is a destroyed set of R4S rear pads I used with P+ pads on the front (hard to tell but almost 50% of the surface has crumbled off).. now I use P+ all around.
I'm sure this has been discussed, but I think Honda made a big mistake with the rear brakes of the S2000. They should have been vented rotors; I have no idea why they're not...

oh, don't get me wrong, the s2k is definitely a great track car, I just think it would have been wise to put vented rotors on the rear (the fronts are vented; don't confuse "drilled" with vented, in case you are). I'd guess it was a cost issue, but the cost differential has to be really minor...

oh, don't get me wrong, the s2k is definitely a great track car, I just think it would have been wise to put vented rotors on the rear (the fronts are vented; don't confuse "drilled" with vented, in case you are). I'd guess it was a cost issue, but the cost differential has to be really minor...
Based on my teeny experience, it's a kick a$$ track car!
