derail thread post:

Someone explain HC rules.. It says F22c cars in Hybrid 2675 and then 00-04 w/ f22c 2550lbs under Restricted. This makes my 2008 F22c car a Hybrid car at 2675lbs?
Yeah in Hybrid H1 you can do more modifications than in Restricted so you have to race at a heavier weight. You have to add weight for things like remote reservoir shocks and a BBK too.
10-4. So no way a S2k is getting to 2550 with cage so hybrid. With TT4 sounding out for me based on weight and power I might turn to that till TT5.

So I forgot about this important rule:

Restricted Preparation Vehicles (e.g. the Acura NSX) are not eligible to be prepared as “Hybrids.” The intention is for Restricted Preparation Vehicles to compete against Hybrids. Restricted Preparation Vehicles are not permitted to follow section 8 Allowed Modifications (H1, H2. H4) except where stated otherwise.

This is also why a K24 swapped S2000 is NOT allowed in Honda Challenge.

Every time I look at the Hc1 rules, they seem biased toward the FWD cars.

I might just de-tune and do ST5, till I can afford an engine swap for ST4

I was under the impression TTC would be around next year still. TT4 is replacing TTB next year but TT5 will be a year later.

Dysen - I've got pretty much the same weight reduction going on and I'm not even close. Most HC1 s2k's will take the BBK and remote reservoir shock penalties because there's really no feasible way to get the car to weight without the penalties.
By the letter of the rules, a K24 s2k is allowed as a hybrid provided the donor is '05 or newer. Restricted prep is limited to 00-04 models...hello loophole. Granted, if you built it the rules committee would be quick to update the document to match the spirit of the rules and all that time and money would be wasted...which is why I haven't done it.

The rules are also heavily biased towards the FWD options on the basis that the tires are easily over-driven and the RWD platform of s2k and NSX don't suffer the same consequences. These same racers will also say that their tires don't tend to fall off over the course of a 30-40 minute sprint race, so go figure. Either way it's a good time with a great bunch of people in a class that's trending in the right direction. That's why I'm still in HC instead of SE46.

I was informed of that yesterday. Not sure how a loophole like that has been in the rules for so long. Why hasn't someone submitted a change for it?
