I believe the insurance only covers the vehicle of the driver. I haven't actually seen an instance of the track insured car being so obviously at fault for an accident of a non-insured car though.
I did ask staff at CMP this question too and they were confused.

As I've said to Boston before, I'm just glad you had the safety gear you did so you weren't hurt further. I believe repairing the car while not cheap, and not quick would be the most cost effective repair. A shell is going to be costly and moving stuff over while not difficult is also time consuming.
Hopefully we can find a white shell since you wanted to wrap the car.

Our insurance won't cover track days. You would need to pay for 3rd party insurance prior to the event like Hagerty or Lockton. I don't pay for the extra coverage due to being on a race track at least once or twice a month. That might change going forward..

100% shouldn't have happened but now we're here lol. I'm reaching out to the track owner of CMP to see about adding a tire wall on the inside turn 5. They should have had something in place..

After getting a quote on a full turn key repair the cost would be right at the same price of another shell. My times money but I'd be ok with taking a roller and my car to my buddy's shop and swap everything from one to another. It would cost a bunch of beer and food but having close friends in this hobby is worth more than money.

Sorry this happened to you Boston. I'm hoping you and your friend can work something out no matter what platform you decide to go with. I saw the hospitality on the S2K FB page and it's a great reminder there are real good people out there.

I wish I was recording that session but it happened right in front of me. No brake lights on the BMW for 4 and he pretty much just went straight through the inside of the carousel. I've seen a lot of people (including myself) go off there and it really sucks that Boston was driving by at exactly the wrong time. A tire wall should be added before someone gets really hurt.

You and Jake need to hurry up and come back though, there's only 4 people in TT5 this weekend so no free tires haha

Man that did not look good at all. Glad you made it out more or less ok.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that passing was only allowed at certain sections of the track, which are usually not in corners. What did this guy expect if he DID clear the turn? I mean the line he took looked like a passing attack.

In Time Trial, the track is open for passing wherever, but the grid and how the cars are released, is speed indexed, or based off fastest lap time. So in theory, you shouldn't catch the car in front of you, or the guy behind you catching you. It's set up that way so people can get a good shot at clean laps.

The line the car behind took wasn't even a line, he lost control of the car and slid through the grass.
