I made the mistake of assuming ignoring Dr. orders regarding rest and staying away from screens and not working would simply result in slower recovery, not LESS recovery.
Take the time, follow the instructions. I'm paying the price now with permanent damage (tinnitus, fog, etc).
Be careful with track insurance. I have found the fine print on a lot of it (like Hagertys) is ONLY for HPDE and does not include anything to do with competition events at all. Even if a track attack where one car on track at a time.
Really sorry to hear about this. Its a long ways from you, but did see mention of a local AP1 here in MN that is already gutted and has a cage. They want $11k for it. Not super cheap but I think it is a running car. I can try to find it and send you details Again, a long ways from you, but maybe worth checking out
Wanted to give an update on this. I received a nice large sum of money from the other driver. He's a good man.
I've been searching for another chassis with little success. I'm sure everyone has seen what people are asking for blown up ap1s... Its ridiculous.
I had a deal worked out with a buddy to buy his second S which was an 03 Suzuka LOL. Worked out all the details when I had another buddy reach out about selling his 06 ap2.. He recently purchased it off s2ki ftw.
Plan is to pick up the ap2 and swap over all the go fast goodies. I'll sell most of the oem parts and aftermarket stuff which I won't be using, seats, interior pieces, Ohlins dfv, spoon calipers, exhaust, etc.
I'll be creating an official thread for the new car, documenting all the progress and of course track days!

Coming up on 11 months since the incident on track. A lot of progress and changes have been made.
I decided to keep the AP1 and I bought my friends 06 AP2.. Everyone needs both gens in their garage right?
I had the entire passenger side replaced, door sill, door and quarter panel. Car is now half silver lol.
I also decided to pursue wheel to wheel racing with NASA in Honda Challenge. We already have 6 S2000s racing in H1 class. Hopefully 2023 we'll have 8 to 10 S2000s in class within the Southeast.
Cage was finished up a couple weeks ago. Went with 1.5 x .120 bar. Also bought a set of MCS 2WNR off of Brian @ Karcepts. Fell in love with MCS coilovers after driving a couple S2000s with them and they offer contingency with NASA.
Purchased a set of the new Apex VS-5RS 17x10 wheels and had some toyo bucks left over from last year, so got a set of spec RRs for the cheap.
Not that much left before comp school in November. List of what I need to get buttoned up below.
Remove the last hvac bits
Dial in the new MCS suspension / Corner balance
Swap hub and wheel bearing
Alignment
Install fire suppression system
Install Cartek killswitch
Wire up oil pressure gauge
Install 9L front splitter
