I've been told by instructors "You don't learn heel and toe at the track. Learn it on the street, practice it on the street, and use it at the track."

True enough! It's surprising, though, just how long it really does take before you can heel-toe smoothly and consistantly while still applying maximum, controlled braking pressure.

Yep, that's the problem...the car lurches like a drunken sailor...sure as hell doesn't feel controlled LOL.

I'll hammer at it for a while and see what comes out of it...hopefully nothing bad

I've been practicing my heel-toe technique and I still find it hard to rev match perfectly. Lot's of times, I'll over rev and the car will start to lurch a little. Never head problems when I under rev a bit though. When you hit it just right, it's just sooo smooth.

Check out this write-up by European Car on the Derek Daly 3-day racing school. It's going to be better than I expected. Better practice your Heel n' Toe.
