STR Prep - Sway Bars
The parts are stacking up. K&N FIPK should be here this week too. I don't think I am going to have a lot of testing before Dixie. I think I can hit 2 events plus the EVO challenge. I might actually go down to the Dixie site and run in February to try to get the bars dialed in.
What bars did you have prior to the Gendron front and rear bars?

I've got an additional degree of negative camber in the front end now, and I'm not going to have much testing time before Dixie. I figure I'm going to have to put more front bar in the car to accommodate for the additional front camber. Only time will tell.
Debating getting an FIPK and getting the car re-tuned before Dixie.
I also like being different. Maybe that's why my girlfriend says I'm "special"?
Out of curiosity is anyone running no rear bar anymore? It seemed like a lot of people experimented with it but I haven't heard many trying it lately. I really like the idea of running no rear bar for reduced weight and uncoupling the wheels from each other for more traction but what are the downsides?
For those that tried it and swapped back, what prompted you to put the bar back on and are you running a different rear bar now?

I'm running no rear bar, and I like it. For me it allows very aggressive throttle application, and reduced throttle induced oversteer. You do get some mid corner-push, but I was also only running -1.8 degrees of camber in the front. I'm hoping increased front camber will resolve the mid-corner push.
It really seems like it comes down to driver preference. It seems like STR setups are this way.

I assume that ViperASR meant to say that he was running with NO rear bar.
I tried it once and hated it. The car did have more rear grip but the cost of transitional response was high. Additionally, the car did pick up quite a bit of slow speed push. Basically, it took too long to complete weight transfer and when slinking through a Roger Johnson course or even the west course at Nats last year, I just don't have the kind of time to wait for the body to complete it's roll before giving another steering input to get through the next wallom or offset.
I'm running 900lb fronts with the Gendron Monster on full stiff. The rear is now a stock MY06 bar. I was running the stock MY00 bar at Nats. I haven't tested the MY06 bar yet but on the street it feels substantially more planted and the front is pushing more than usual.
I hate slow weight transfer in a car.

Thanks,
I think I'm on target with my CR springs (384 front, 343 rear) and the '00-'01 427 bar rear, and a Gendron Monster Bar on the front.
I hate having to wait till spring to see if it all comes together.
This set-up should be balanced similar to what you ran at nationals. Did your car have too much oversteer, or were you just looking to soften the rear end a little going to the '06 bar?
