Default trailer electrical connections

Are the lights on a trailer connected to the taillights on the S2k in much the same way
that they are on most other cars?

Thanks, Cal

Yes, with one caveat. Since the S2K uses separate bulbs for the brake/turn signal, I believe you have to get a combiner to get both those signals to the single dual-filament on the trailer.

There are a bunch of guys with trailers here so I'm sure one of them will pop in with the right answer soon

Yeah, you need a "five wire into four wire" converter, IIRC.

I recommend using an isolating "lighting converter", which senses the states of the car's lights but only draws power directly from the battery. It costs about $40-50 at Pep Boys.
