3. I have an 04 that I bought April of 2010 with 8745 miles on it (love to brag about that!), and I would rather have low end torque and give up all kinds of top end, b/c I won't go over 80 mph, and 90 ever; I'm too scared of a ticket!
4. I get 25 mpg going back and forth to work every day in the S, with 30 tops on the highway the few times I get to take it for a short trip. I wonder how your mpg is affected, if you keep track.
Best advice for you with a 2004 S2000 is to stay away from 4.77 gearing. The transmission gearing is different between the AP1 and AP2 and it makes 4.77s in an AP2 pretty ridiculous.

Select 04+ and change axle ratio to 4.77. Top speed in THIRD is 67 mph. >.<

1. Your advice is consistent with what I have heard from others that have discussed this with at length in the past; I forget which gears they recommmended, it could have been the 4.56; don't remember.

1. Comments like that do give me pause.
2. I have known some that had them on their 1st S, but didn't do it on their 2nd.
3. The comment that in 3rd gear you're only doing 67 mph only makes me want it, since I would be doing 75 normally, and I would be getting low end grunt.
4. I don't see the down side in giving up top end if you are never going to use it anyway; if my S never went over 80 mph, but got there like a bat fleeing Hell (yes, I know, I changed the anecdote for humorous distraction).

G35 coupes are pretty slow without boost. I've owned 2 of them, 1 was tt, other was fully built with additional tune and suspension setup.

They are heavy and feel heavy, but with boost, it's a tad more fun. Good run, drive safe.

Ran one of these on the freeway the other day.

I have AEM v2 intake, test pipe, 70mm dual exhaust, 4.77s and tuned on AEM EMS.

We went from a 55 roll up to about 100. He had an exhaust and just the LED sidemarkers etc. from what I could tell. I thought it was gonna be close but we happened to start at my sweet spot of 55mph which puts me at 6.5k rpms in 3rd gear, when I saw his hood jump, I smashed the throttle and I was gone. Hit 4th gear, looked back and he was multiple lengths behind, I let off and he quickly caught back up to me. He was trying but it didnt seem to be enough. I was proud of the S2k that night for sure.
