Actually that kid did get away and drove on an off road. He left the car on foot but a helicopter found where he was. That police video was edited believe it or not. They used a scene in it from the beginning again and slowed it down and said that he "ran out of gas".
i heard that he got away and they pretend that they caught him. they later found him because the father turned the kid in. it was the dad's car. i think that's what they heard.

Sorry to change the topic a bit, but is it true the crown vic cop cars are modded to go faster? I heard that this is true in most of the U.S., I don't think the same holds true in canada though

The older ones did, don't know about the newer ones. Had a 85 Crown Vic X-cop car. Bigger engine 351W, bigger Brakes, Bigger radiator and Trans cooler, Engine oil and power steering cooler. Also Posi Rear end and heavy duty wheels and lugs. That thing was built like a tank, and would take a lot of abuse

It was also lighter. No rear window crank or door handles. Ha Ha

Mine was a highway cruiser. so she was geared for top end (about 160mph).
They use a different rear end for city cars.

A while back a magazine took cop cars to the strip. This is all from memory, so it might be a little off (+/-0.3)(and they are carrying several hundred pounds of extra equipment):

Interceptors (Crown Vics): 16.0
Impalas: 15.5
Camaros: 14.0

The interceptors and impalas aren't made to race you down- they just follow you until you run out of gas or run into a nail strip. The camaros are still fast enough to keep up quite a bit, but again, they have their guidelines.

Should ammend that
Bell Jet Ranger: ~ 5 sec (ok that's from a full speed "roll")
Radio waves: ~ 1.4 microsec (hope I calculated that right)

Sorry, but you're going to have to make some sort of sense before you get a decent response from me.

Several people have run (won't mention their screen names), one recently in the Mid-A forum and all have been caught.

The fact that would entertain this thought shows you're too immature to be driving a sportscar.
Tenblade, they were not ALL caught

I did it. It was actually 2 of us. The other was a 430hp turbo S and mine was stock. He got taken to jail and car was impounded. I parked in a garage and picked up the car next morning. We bailed him out of jail and got the car back that night. He had a racing ticket and another one for running a red light. Cops had no lights on so they couldn't get us for fleeing.

VERY bad experience and i would not do it again nor would i recommend it to anyone else. I don't usually do things like this but the person in front of me dropped it and took off so i was kinda left with no choice, i guess i just lucked out on getting away.
