Anyone have any entertaining S2000 stories to share?
As some of you know, my '98 M3 was totalled on Saturday so I'll be purchasing my '02 S2000 Sebring/Red this week. I love my M and frankly dont think there's a car on the planet that drives like it, but every car is different and advantageous in their own rights. I remember one night I saw an S driving down Ventura (popular street in the san fernando valley) so I pulled up on him and made a left down topanga canyon, he followed and we both mashed it. I took him by about 2 1/2 car lengths by the time we got to 70 ( then I slowed down since I dont condone street racing, especially at such high speeds, but there's nothing wrong with giving it a go with a worthy competetor every now and again if the conditions are safe) Anyway, he got on the freeway in the same way I was heading. I saw his beautiful xenons heading toward me pretty quickly. He pulled up next to me and we mashed it again. I was in 3rd at approx 65 mph (one of that car's biggest sweet spots) By the time I got to 100 I could hardly read his license plate. I was amazed! We slowed down, gave eachother the thumbs up and proceeded our seperate ways. Gotta love those 9000 revolutions per minute. Anyone else got any interesting stories... who you've beaten, lost to, etc.?

anyways, this will probably be moved to Street Encounters. if a high-powered car like an M3 revs up, chances are the S will lose by the time the driver can react. but yes, once the S revs up, it's quite a beast and give little room for others to catch up. most of the time, once you hear the sound of an S revving up, it's probably too late.

Why do you hate reading racing stories? After all you own a S2000 which is a race car don't you? You hate street racing or you hate racing in general (drag, street,Nascar, Formula1.... etc)

I gave up my E36 97 m3 as well for a s2k. You'll probably agree with me, but yes I miss my E36. What do i miss? I miss the smoothness, quiteness, torque and the room. If you are going to use the s2k for a daily driver, it can be a little tiring. But dont get me wrong, it is a fun car , especially with the top down. I kinda wish I kept my m3 and bought the s2k, but oh wells, what's done is done. Oh another thing is the m3 has a easier shift when accelerating hard. The s2k has a very , very short shifter but is less forgiving so it's easier to grind.
