Me and the mrs were coming home from watching Evil Dead (great remake btw; if you're a fan of the original, stay till the end credits are done!). We were at a stoplight and there was a purple 4-door 3 series (couldn't tell if it was a 335i or 328i since the badges were shaved) in the other lane, tastefully modded (lowered on bbFalse lm's). As the light turns green, the guy in the 3 series floors it while I gently get into gear. I'm not racing at this point, but before I shift into 2nd, I think to myself "why the hell not" and gun it, ripping through the gears. The 3 series had maybe 1-1 1/2 car lengths on me, but couldn't pull. I notice that my car is slowly (and I emphasize SLOWLY) reeling him in at about 75mph but never getting next to him. He lets off, with me giving him the thumbs up as I run past him to make my exit.

I can honestly say that if I had launched the car, or if we went from a 20 roll, from the way the outcame went before, I'm pretty sure I would've been neck and neck or slightly pull on him. Not bad for a near stock 11 year old s2k.

 

Definitely a 328. A stock 335 rapes anything but a F/I s2000

 

E90 is a 4 door...E92 is a coupe.
