Beat an STI...........
I've never run an STI, but the STI's here runs low 14's... I don't think any stock STI has ever finished 13's yet. Evo's on the other hand hit 13's easily... I need to drive both to fully understand why, I thought they were supposed to be closer.

Why are you so attracted to me? C'mon dude, I don't care how much you want me, I'm not gay like you. Please move on!
LOL, He couldnt drive, thats the ONLY reason you hung with him. I dont care if its from a roll or a dead stop, he would have pulled on you if he knew what he was doing. I raced an STi with my Evo and we were side by side until the top of 3rd when I started pulling. Now line me up with an S at the same speeds, and I guarantee you by the top of 3rd I would be 3-4 cars up. LOL, maybe it was a poser WRX with STi badging and the wing.
No offence, but I just dont see how you could hang with him, they are fast even though most people think they lose their advantage from a roll, at a slow speed roll, they dont lose their advantage, believe me. You could be right at v-tec, but im sure he was in his powerband as well. I actually like racing from roll's, in 2nd gear I can pull very hard on a lot of cars.

these threads should read:
'i beat a horrible driver in his ______'
why sti's suck in the 1320 compared to evos?
gearing.
5th gear in the 1/4 mile is ridiculous
i actually wish i could have an ra 5 spd gearset
the sti has way too much torque to be restricted by such closely spaced 1st and 2nd gears
midknightdragon-
i don't recall you bringin your s to work while i was in ct this past week.
we definitely could have found out how fast your s really is
all you guys that claim to beat cars that are supposed to be faster need to realize that either:
a. you're racing a crappy driver
b. you're racing in circumstances that only favor your car
c. the other driver doesn't know your racing
most of the time it's c.
ask the driver if he wants to run, wait for his answer (that's the important one) give him 3 real honks, then go.
this garbage of guys sayin
'i knew he wanted to run'
'he was pacing me and blowin off @ me'
and then you floor it and claim victory.
sure the s is going to give a better run if @ high speeds, but the sti still traps higher in the 1/4 and i don't see alot of guys racing 100-140.
2 cars, 2 different purposes.
the only thing they have in common is that neither is great in the 1/4 mile

300h.p. yea but has a Curb weight of 3263 lb
vs
11.8 lbs per hp in the s
and lest we forget it's torque that wins races
so we can all agree that this sti driver sucked or some guy in a wrx had a big wing on there
