Boxster Type S
You could be right, but he could have meant a three way too...
Shouldn't this be moved to the "off topic" forum now?
Seeing how it is March, maybe we could get one other person tossed in and have a "Final 4" match...
BTW, I think the hood of your car is longer, so probably better to have sex on that, besides I just waxed mine and we'd slide right off... ah to have a 1968 Toronado again, now those cars had long hoods, larger than a king size bed I think...

Dude, that video kicks ass. That is one of the best videos I have ever seen, kinda reminds me of that old classic Married with children. I think Tom and Ken should get on a one on one. Just remember to get it on tape.

BTW, I don't need my girlfriend for a witness, your girlfriend has already stated that you weren't playing as hard as I was in last week's football game, you should be happy that I was on your team and carried you to victory.

Huh?
Boy talking about dredging up a really old thread for an unknown purpose...
Are you still driving that MR2 Spyder or did you upgrade to a performance car yet?
BTW, if you want to peruse some performance goodies, check out http://www.smiley.net/boxster/
Good stuff there...
BTW, for those interested, this weekend I will be with the Porsche sponsored racing team in the pits at LeMans in France, look for me on TV, I'll be the guy with the stupid a$$ grin on my face!

I don't know yet if I'm going to keep the car when I get it back, but I'm looking at S2000s, the 350Z, and a Yamaha 600R (which just about everybody has done their best to talk me out of.)

Jason,
I didn't know I was trying to win a popularity contest.
Considering you came into a thread and took a jab at me in a thread that had been closed for months I figured that a light hearted jab back wouldn't be an issue.
Actually, I'm sorry to hear about your engine block problems, I had heard that several MR2 owners were starting to encounter this. I can't imagine what a supercharger or turbo would do to the longevity of that engine, especially after hearing Celica owners complain about their engine problems. There isn't any excuse in getting a defective engine out of the box other than either poor design or poor craftsmanship. Craftsmanship problems can be readily fixed, but design problems are bigger issues. If this happened to me in the same fashion it has happened to you, I'd probably start thinking it was a design issue, even if maybe it really wasn't and start considering something else.
As far as the Boxster being the step-child to the 911, that really isn't any different from say the 914,924,928,944, or 968's in the past. There will always be those who believe that the 911 is the superior car to everything else in the stable, despite equally powered Boxsters running circles around 911's at the track due to better stock balance. Race efforts will always be targeted at the 911, that's what TRG is running at LeMans, you won't see any Boxsters there. The Boxster, like any car, will have its strong and weak points, I just happen to like the strong points as they best suit my driving preferences. Would I take a new 911 GT2 if offered? You better believe it!
It's all about finding the car in your price range that can accomplish what you want to accomplish with it, and that's always going to be purely subjective based on each person's ideals. So I don't really concern myself with what anyone else thinks of my car, I just care about what I like about it and what I want to do about it. If it doesn't get the glory in the press or at LeMans like a 911, that doesn't really bother me because the car does what I want it to do.
This is why I always advise driving whatever makes you happy. If car isn't any fun for you to drive, why are you wasting your time and your life driving it. In your case I'd be very frustrated that I wasn't getting to drive my car, seek a refund, and get something else that I could have fun with and feel comfortable with. So when I say I feel badly for you, I truly do, I wouldn't want to be in your situation for one minute so if you are as much of an enthusiast as I am I can only imagine the headaches and nightmares you are going through.
I wish you the best of luck with getting it resolved, if I still had connections inside Toyota I'd offer them up to help, but I don't have them any longer.
BTW, Boxster gets a minor facelift and minor tail lift if that's the right name, and a glass rear window and new wheels for 2003, also a small bump up in HP. Big changes are slated for 2004, so we'll see what happens then. If they get the stock HP equal to my HP then I might consider upgrading to a newer model, but I might also look at a different car instead, just depends on my wants/desires/means at the time.

Hey Thomas Laporta,
Please check out the additional messages on the thread on PPBB

I sent you email about it but don't know if you are checking your mail or not right now. The anonymous guy fessed up.
Figured if I posted in this thread it might kick off an email to you and then you'll cruise over to PPBB to see the messages there...

Hi I notice you are new posting everywhere but know what you are talking about before typing.. a boxster s has 250 hp not 260.. i am not here to tell you which car is better but at least know your stats before you go mouthing off
Thomas,
Before he comes back with a smart-a$$ response, he could have been talking about the 2003 Boxster S. The pre-2003's had 252hp and the 2003's get an 8hp bump so they should come in at around 260. Of course you could put it in his face that HP isn't everything, torque makes a big difference too, but unfortunately that isn't a point you can argue on this one.
Hey did you get my messages on your voicemail about Topeka? Are you going? Did you send in your forms? Do you need more info?
