technically, it has more than what kind of power you're making at the wheels.

to figure it out you'd have to chart it out on a graph. and you do so using torque multiplied by the gearing. however, i'll save you the trouble, as the majority of cars out there, make more power at redline in a current gear than they would at whatever rpm in the next subsequent gear. there are some exceptions to this, but in general, cars do best shifting at redline.

True that, although peak power is made at 8200, if you were to shift at 8200 and not bring it up to redline you will be at alot lower RPMs in the next gear than if you redlined. Basically your making more power at 8900 than you would be at say 6200.
the ap1 peaks i think between 8300-8400

guys i have a question. how come everytime i lauch at 5000 rpms or more my back end wants to swivel left and right? arent u guys launching around there? i have an 05 and i relized launching at 4000 is probably the best way without too much wheel spin. what do u guys think? i will try what u suggest so feel free to give suggestions.

6.5-7k for best launch. It should swivel.

you right UK's website says 8300, I just remember UL saying 8200 when comparing the AP1 and AP2 and most dynos you see are around 8200.

you WANT wheelspin. the wheels should spin for the first couple seconds or so. if you get little wheelspin, you're putting tremendous strain/load on your drivetrain and diff. this can cause the infamous bearing cap flex that makes the diffs fail.

aside from that, yes the car's back end should "step out" to one side or the other slightly.

click the link in the bottom of my sig. that thread has a video of me launching. it will give you an idea how much wheelspin, plus if you watch the video, you will probably see me counter-steer slightly as the back end of the car steps out on the launch.

, you definetly want to get the tires spinning. From my experience the tires should be spinning, and you should be able o control how muh so that the tires have full grip again at 6k or beyong it. Like wis said the rear may also want to go at either drection, but just counter a bit and the car will jet straight and your off.
