Lost to a Syclone
My first encounter with one I got smoked (I was in a tercel though). I thought to myself "this Blazer is rev'ing on me" so I tried to punch it and he had like ten cars in two seconds
I learned to check the badging and look for Cyclone or Typhoon

but if you come across one don't miss the chance to give it a run. just don't fool yourself into thinking you're gonna keep up easily.i LOVE those trucks. i was looking to buy one, but wife was having a hard time understanding why i was going to pay $20K for a 15yo truck. then i was going to build a Syclone knockoff, she was a little more understanding to that. and then i ran across the trailblazer ss...i settled for it. i figured a modern day Typhoon (a little slower) and it was a good base to start on, just waiting on the warranty to go out. i'm gonna get all the little bugs out of it before i tear into the motor
good friend of mine came across a Syclone on the highway that was trying to race him. His evo is close to 400whp, so he was like f@k it i'll beat this pos pick up....He got his ass handed 2 him badly and was confused on how the f2k this pickup beat him. He googled since all he saw the the gmc and then found out it was a Syclone....haha cocky crazy evo owner got murdered lol
yeah, they were rediculously high for the time period they came out. but they were also outrunning ferrari's of the day.
just imagine going to pick up a truck, driving it from the lot to the track, and outrunning, let's say, a C6 Z06. amazing feat? yes indeed....and you could have done it from 91-93. just something to think about lol.
and even today, IF you find a stock one they'll eat 95% of cars on the road from a dig. most of them are modified to stupid extremes.
click me there's an original magazine article to read over. i did notice that the MSRP price in the article is a bit low

You see alot of them at the dragstrip usually high twelves with some mods. Always one or two typhoons or Cyclones a week Sometimes they have a meet and 5 or 6 will show up. They hang alot with the Grand National and t-type crowd
Ever few weeks or so you get one running low 12's and braking before the finish line so they don't get kicked out. Then on thier last run they open it up and get like mid 11's at 120 or 125.
