SC w/AEM tuning and some breathing mods should take a stock M quite handily.

We are referring to base, out of the box, SC kits that use the stock ECU with a black box of sorts to control the A/F ratio.

Once you get into serious FI stuff on the S, it gets quite interesting

Actually, come to think of it, even with a base Vortech SC boosting at 7 psi, u should be spanking M3's (at least from a roll). I know when I had my SC, with just exhaust, I was putting down @ 315 whp. My M only puts out @ 280-90 whp...and it weighs roughly 600 lbs more.

I guess with a vortech you'd have a better chance... a lot of the base comptechs that I've seen dyno right around 300 or so whp.

But yea from a roll with a supercharger you should be able to pull on the M.... but off the line again is a nice race...

i think the m3 wasn't even trying yet..you are just behind fronting to catch up..but if you run in to the empty lane that's going to be some shit homeboy..with only a aem intake..i don't think so

I ran an E46 in 2nd gear through 3rd before it became too dangerous to go further and we shut down. He was barely pulling and had less than a car on me toward the end of my 3rd gear.

you also have to look at what tranny they got. if they have a SMG tranny, it be almost IMPOSSIBLE for them to misshift and if they hit that perfect shifting point, theyre gone. your dont even have to lift your foot to shift. it just keeps going. even if a s2000 were base s/c or turbo'd, if you ran a slightly modded SMG M3, youd get beat no matter how good of a driver you are. on www.e46fanatics.com, people were getting around 25-30WHP or more with I/E/H on a 330CI. imagine what it could do on a m3.
