Thumbs up Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 - Stock for Stock

Any comments or has anyone raced one? My brother has a stock 1995 VR4 that he swears can romp my car inside out. I've driven it and it IS a beast (series twin turbos, AWD, 320 ft*lbs tq), but it also carries quite a bit of weight if I'm not mistaken.

As far as magazine racing goes, is this a driver's race or an out-and-out ass whoopin'? Again, this would be stock for stock.

3000GT's lose a third of its power to the wheels. so for instance, if hes making 300bhp...hes only getting 200 of that down to the ground. factor in the weight disadvantage, u should have him. is this from a dig or rolling start? with the AWD, u should have the advantage from a roll, he should have it from a stop. But even from a dig, i think u still have a shot.

1/3 power loss to the wheels? i think that's a bit of an overstatement.

to the OP, it's a driver's race. the last gen VR4 (which your bro does not have) was/is a bit faster than our cars. the previous gens are a driver's race.

my nod is to the VR4, that AWD is a beast. they can also run mid 13's stock, or so do their car forums sites

I raced 1 already, my friends 97 VR4. You will beat him on the start but he will kill you on top speed. I did couple of run with him. 1st on dead start, i pull on him about 1 car length going into 2nd gear but he creeps on me everygear after that and passes me after 4th gear. 2nd run, start @ 50mph in 3rd gear we pull and side by side after third going into 4th at about 90ish mph he had about 1/2 on me and after fourth edging a little more letting off at 132mph on 5th he had about almost a car in front. 3rd race, rolling @ 70mph VTEC time. On start i pull about 1 car in front after 3rd going into 4th he staring to pull, creeping...creeping and even after 4th gear and again pulling away about a car length on me in 5th gear letting off @ 135mph. Well i let off but he keeps on going, he said he hit about a little more over 150 top speed, well he slowed down when hitting a little over 150. And yes His is completely stock well maybe exhualt piping from cat back maybe. And 1 more thing, with twine turbo his freaking turbo kicks in with no hesitation like no lagg at all and running stock @ 14psi dman that thing.
