Just wondering......how many car manufacturers have you seen that bring back a previous model number (RX7) after they have released the next number in the series (RX8)?

Any????

At all???

So then, how are people hoping to see the RX7 come back - even revised?

That's like hoping they release the S800 next year.

The RX7 has been the flag ship sports car for Mazda for years. Even though some consider the RX8 the replacement, it is not. The RX8, depending on sales, will be wittled down to the next generation RX7. Most likely loosing the suicide doors and gaining a bump in power. So how do you think a sub-2800 lbs and +300 hp sound? that's what we'll probably see for the next RX7.

Much like how Toyota has dubbed the Altezza (IS300 in the states) as the successor to the Hachiroku (AE86), it is far from the truth.
