Is the comptech intercooled? 9psi on a 10.2:1 compression prolly requires pulling a good amount of timing.

This is a great thread. Plenty of goods comments and plenty of bads. But what I've noticed, the only people that have said good things about an NSX are those that either own(ed) one, driven one, and worked on one. Other than mentioned, majority of those negative comments came from those that never been in one much less owned.

For me, I appreciate all cute cars regardless of what it is....the way I see it, the liking factor is a matter of preference. If you wonder.....yes I've driven an S many times, and yes I do enjoy the drive top down. However, I've also driven and owned 3 NSX to these day....I love the way it feels inside, I love the way it drifts around the track, I love how she loves me and etc. Here are a few pic of my current weekend cruiser and track rat to those that like it!! If you don't like it, ignore it.

My freind's car puts out 375HP to the wheels with intake, header,
exhuast and high boost pulley.
Not enough to run past a stock Z06 -- which is half the price before the mods and faster around a race circuit due to superior handling.

The NSX was a great car, but that time has come and gone.

Current NSX owners fit into three categories.

Guys who own the newer cars and don't care that they are not driving the fastest car out there.

Guys who buy the older car because it holds its value well, and realize it is not a fast car by current standards.

Guys who buy the old car to impress people who don't realize how old, cheap and slow the car is in relative terms. It is no coincidence that so many of the fanboys who speak incorrectly of the NSX on forums like this fall into this category, aka posuers.

Owning a certain type of car is not to impress others. Why are you driving an S instead of a Hyundai? As I've mentioned above, it is a matter of preference and the speed factor is relative--what's fast to you may not be fast to others. A well done Civic can kick anybody's ass...even a Z06. but at the end of the day, it is still a civic. After many years owning an NSX, I've found and met many good people...attorney, RE developer, RE broker and so forth. These people can afford other cars other than an NSX but they choose not to. I have a buddy that has an NSX and loves it, but yet he also has an F car stradale in the garage. As for me, I think 4 cars now is enough at my age. I need to whip my ass and get a good size garage for my toys.

well said yellowpad.

The NSX has a combination of comfort/performance/reliability/low cost of ownership/looks/exclusivility/prestige that I think many other cars (even supercars) still have a hard time matching today.

Now are they worth the 80K new? I don't know, I personally don't think so - however I do definitely think it is worth the 55K that they charged when it first came out...there was massive price increases (i.e. MR2, 240SX, Supra TT) that occured pretty much to most Japanese sports cars 90's

I definitely think the 3 Year 0 down, $799 a month lease is very much worth it (They offer it everyday)

Its a great car that does need a replacement in my opinion, but it is still a great car. I have driven one personally, and I thought it was pure bliss.

You guys can believe what you want but I'll tell you from personal experience that no stock S2K is going to keep up with even a 3.0 liter NSX. My friend had a '91 with intake headers and exhaust and I raced him several times. At the time, my car had intake exhaust, clutch flywheel, hd pp, and 4.44 gears. First through second gear would be tied, but once the NSX would get into third gear he would just walk away at a suprisingly fast rate. We kept it going for a while and it got worse and worse. His car had over 100,000 miles on it. Manual 3.0 liter NSX's are good for consistent mid 13's, old or not.
