Wow,

What a long thread. I have both cars. I have an auto coupe with the 05 19 in wheels, intake and exhaust.

The s2000 has intake and exhaust also.

Its this simple....

I know how to drive the S2K better than the average bear...

Side by side from a dead stop, my wife driving the g and me driing the S, we floor it.

Dead even until I leave 1st gear.....

Then all I saw all the way up to 100 was those beautiful led tail lights of my g35 coupe.

Before any doubters start saying I missed a shift or can't drive, come to thunderhill this may and tell it to me in person...wink wink :-)

Your AUTO 05' G35 beat your S2000? Are you sure the S2k's running right?

it runs great..dyno slips show 193.5 at the wheels...

How the heck do I post pictures? :-P

People forget the G35 has the same Horsepower to weight ratio as the S2K.

People forget the G35 has Traction Control to assit is launches, unlike the S2K.

People forget the G35 has nealy TWO TIMES the low end tourque of the S2K.

Find a healthy G35 with a good driver and line up with him, youll see.

But street racing is stupid anyway. even though the G35 is slightly faster in a straight line, the s2000 flat out kicks it butt on the track, and that why I got it :-)

except you'll probably never take your S to the track. Traction control is not something you want when you drag race. It's not like a limited slip when you launch, instead it will bog your car if it detects wheel spin. thats definitely no bueno. All the G35 folks that drag always turn off their VCD for their run.

I am surprised that the previous poster said he lost to his wife's automatic G35. I know some auto G35s were putting down low 14s on the track under very good conditions, but that shouldn't be even to take the S?

Anyhow, the G35 does have the same power/weight as the S but with tons more low end torque. You don't need to be in 6000 to pull. Thats a beautiful thing.

I agree...I always turn it off, it slow's you down quite a bit, considering you it will engage when shifting from 1-2, and 2-3...

I personally still think the S2000 is faster.

Actually the only reason I got the S2K was to go to the track with it. I will be on the track the 14th and 15th.

Say what you may, but until you line up beside a G35 coupe and beat one to 100mph it really doesn't matter.

I tried and lost, ill try again as they sleep beside each other :-)

Ive done that many time....even from a roll the G cant beat my S. I have a video of a 2005 g35 6 speed (unless he upgraded to 05 wheels) not be able to pass me from 60-135ish with me (250) and a passenger my same size. He was alone.

I've had similar experiences with three G35's. Two stick and one auto. The stick version did pretty well, and were both from the stop. But I pulled them mevery gear, and harder after third. The auto was from a 70 roll, and well I murdered him until 120. The S should win on every outcome if both driver are equal with no mistakes while driving.

1st the intake/exhaust in the G do more for it than the i/e in the s2000. Your traction control does not matter since you are automatic and can only break-gas... If you call that a launch, ok. What rpm do you drop the clutch at when you launch? If it is 6+k, then you can't drive and are getting too much wheelspin. If it's less than 6k, then you can't drive. You should have it at the launch at least a car... And I doubt your wife even uses break-gas start.
