I'll give you another data point. In January of last year I did a measurement when we were discussing shifting times in this thread: http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...25&pagenumber=5
I still have the logs. Nice flat piece of road ( I know it's flat as it runs by the river), cold weather (10C), full tank.
Two interesting entries from that run:
s g g g mph km hp
...
2.95 -0.04 0.52 0.49 30.0 0.019 123
...
8.10 0.08 0.31 0.28 70.0 0.139 186
So my number as measured by an AP-22, a pretty accurate device, was 5.15s on the 30 to 70MPH run. Compared that with the MY04 5.415s and MY00 5.668s as measured by UL.
I know that the measurement devices are different, conditions were likely different as well, but, anyway you cut it, those numbers seem awfully slow.
I've got the mugen stuff including wheels, got rid of some weight, and I believe that my engine is particularly strong. At least it was always faster everytime I tested it against other, mostly non modded S2Ks. But that's about it.
I'm still wondering if we get the same cars on both sides of the atlantic.
UL,
You were not running uphill, were you?
Also do you have shifting times for those runs? I'm curious to see if the MY04, with the new synchronizers is faster. In my run those two 1-2-3 shifts took 0.53 seconds.
First off, in tests with both an AP22 and a Vericom in the car at the same time, we've found an average difference of 0.2 seconds (the AP22 showing shorter times) on 0-60 runs. So, that's one factor. Second is driver weight. I clear in just under 215 lbs or nearly 100 kg. How much do you weigh Luis? Next, the weather on the test day was approximately 25C with 60% humidity. Such a change in temperature can be worth upwards of 4-5% more power - consider that our 04 was making about 5% more power than the 00 for an idea of what that's worth. Finally, my shift times were in the 0.4 second/shift range which is about as quick as you can get with full lift throttle and clutch usage. I can go as quick as 0.2 sec/shift when not lifting, but that's not healthy nor is it representative.
Face it, the 04 is more powerful and accelerates more quickly. Even with an off-the-shelf ECU.
