'05 owners, regrets?
gm build quality is not nearly as good. put 70k miles on it and you'll wish you had the honda. Sit in a vette and you'll realize from the seats that its designed for fat old guys. Not that I'm that young but, I am not impressed with the z06.. do some research on the vette forums also. The 03 and up sell for more because of several improvements. Therefore the earlier models are less desirable. I spoke to a few guys that have vettes for daily drivers and you better get the extended warranty...So hope that makes you feel better.
yeah...the C6 Z06 would be a no-brainer.....505hp w/ less than 3200lbs!?! That is a power / weight ratio that rivals supercars! Its even better than the Viper!
Bet in wet weather, and in around town, all that torque could get kinda hairy, though. That is why I LOVE the S....its civil around town, but NASTY when you want it to be....kind of like the perfect woman!

40% depreciation in 3 years with only 8k on the odo should tell you something. I love the speed, power and handling, but the interior looks cheap and very....plasticy--for a $50k+ car. I'd love to have one as a track car, though!
I was also going to say, "you won't regret buying the S at the gas pump," but the 5.7L V8 Z06 gets 31MPG on the highway? And about the same gas mileage as the S (20-23MPG) around town??? If that's true, that's impressive.

Z06 is a great car, but I would seriously consider a ZR1 instead. Prices have bottomed out, and have nowhere to go but up.
I'm like Kumar. Would have S2000 for daily driver, and Vette for weekends and shows.
Gas mileage and cost of maintenance(tires mainly) would make the S2000 more practical.

I drove both before I bought the "S". I like the "S" much better. As u can c form my sig. I have added several goodies that makes my car unique and very fast and I am still below the cost of the z06. I did not like the transmission, view from drivers seat and the lack of road feel the z06 offered. Top down always!!!!
None! I don't know how, if you bought one, you could have any regrets. After all, you gotta know what you're getting yourself into. The car is everything you imagine it to be and more, although definitely NOT for everyone. I still get all gitty when I walk up to it.

I love my S
