tire tread? tire temp? road temp? weather? road conditions? alignment?

all these things make a big difference.

I've never had those flaps either

I have those flaps, MY00 #233, always wondered what they were.

Tire Tread: Soft Rubber Front, Hard Rubber Rear.
Road Temp: approx 70 degrees
Weather: Sunny - low wind - high visibility about 80 degrees
Road Conditions - Three series of bridges over a river built three years ago - Asphalt Comleted ONE year ago
Alignment - It's Fine

Then all you need is to gain a few more pounds to hold the car to the ground

I've hit 155 totally stable on the freeway. It was rock solid. It was still pulling and I could have far exceeded that. My top was up.

Tire pressure (accurately measured) is absolutely critical at speed.
I've been to 152 on Mt. Emma Road in Califonia......How Turbo Dave got to 174 MPH (documented still defies me?).
