I've been to 152 on Mt. Emma Road in Califonia......How Turbo Dave got to 174 MPH (documented still defies me?).

Tyre pressures are critical as is alignment. Turbo Dave 's car was well modded BTW.
Those flaps in the front of the wheels are called "wind spats" if I'm not mistaken.
It is there to redirect the air so it does not enter the fender well as much, creating less turbulence and lift.

My car is relatively new..
I accidentally hit 119 pulling on to the highway with the top down. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Maybe you caught a crosswind?
I was also curious to see if the people who have really wound the s2k out had a factory wing? Somehow I dont think it does much. FWIW I do not have one myself.

I have been doing 120ish and crossed an intersection with a large rise, and i floated too
actually i flew would be more precise. Kinda scary to have a car in the air with no roof over your head.
But to give it credit the landing was very nice with not too much leg shaking on my part. Not sure about the bounce on the landing, but it was getting close to flight too.
Was racing a WRX if you wondered
(i beat him but we never got a good fair stop light race).

Five of us hit 155 on our way to the S2kDays '01 event without any sign of "lift". Check your alignment, tire pressure, and suspension as noted above.
I've done 157 Top-Up and 130+ Top- Down without any problem. This is the most sure-footed car I've been in. It's very stable at high speeds since I average 90mph and venture into the 100's during my daily commute.
And my friends think that it must suck having to drive ~100 miles a day.
If they only knew the power of the S2000 could vanquish those evil thoughts!!!

Thanks for all the input on my Floating Condition
I will be checking the tire pressure on the next attempt, as that seems it could be a problem. -

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my screaming passenger. She was actually getting lower in the seat to make sure that her head was below the roll bar too
