hmmm so you telling me that a 00-03 ecu would work on the 04-05 car and it would let me rev up to 9k no problem?

yes sir... I would highly recommend a 00-01 ecu becuase it runs richer.
you have to take the car to honda to get the immobilzer keys reprogrammed.
I just got mine done today for free
I got the hook up here

interesting, and thanks for the quick response.....hey also how much did the ecu cost you? and when you mean getting the key reprogrammed do you mean you had to get another key made for the new ecu?

So i take it the redline warning does not come on at 8000rpm either with this swap?

nope... it's just the 2000 ecu and a 9000 redline.

no problem. the ecu was $150. well your key has an immobilizer in it, which keeps it from cranking with a different ecu. I'll save all the technical jargan and just say... bring your keys to the dealer along with your new ecu and get it programmed. They reprogram your immobilizers to work the other ECU.
also you will need the VIN from the other ECU.

So did you have to replace the dash cluster (ie. the Digital LCD which shows your rpms, and speed)? ... If not, what happens when you rev over 8200rpms?

I'm curious how that works. Sounds like a cool mod though, would be interested to see a dyno comparing the MY04 ECU in a MY04 car to a MY00 or MY01 ECU in a MY04 car.

Car is doing well at 9k.

04 ecu made 200 rwhp.

01 ecu made 215 rwhp, so we will run this for a while.

Car has a couple thousand miles, and pulls amazingly.

How you like them apples
HEY BILL,

Been a while since I've called you. Glad to see this thread has been updated. I got a couple issues you may be able to resolve.

1. Why did the 04 dyno such low numbers. I've been seeing quite a bit of 04's dynoing at 210, 215, and over stock. (are you guys using an unpopular dyno or something)

2. I'm leary about the 01 ECU, something about it makes me feel dirty. Is it really safe, have you guys been monitoring A/F ratios and such. I think the added 0.2L is just too big for a 2.0L ECU fuel regulation. Would running an AEM EMS be superior.

Ryan Brown.

can you please do a quick recap? all you did was swap the 04 ecu with a pre 04 ecu and take care of the keys, then it all works fine? driving impressions?

thank you

s2kevolution,

what are the a/f ratios like? any more info you can provide would be great. i don't care about revin to 9k, i just want 8.5-8.6k where the 2.2l is still making good power. where did you get the ecu?

tks
