Can anyone verify if all clutch/syncro problems were rectified on the production line for all 2001 S2K's?

Any 2001's with a grind out there?

 

I just got off the phone with an '01 yellow owner. He says no grinds or decel noise...so maybe they did fix the problem.

 

I read somewhere that Honda fixed the grind problem in the 2000MY about 2/3 way thru production...can anyone verify this?

 

I have massive down shift shuttering, but not the 1st-2nd grind. In addition, I get some vibration from the shift @3K-6K rpms. My car runs great, but Honda wants to examine the noise and vibration further.

I've driven the 2000 and own a 2001, the difference in the trannys is evident. The problem was fixed within the 2000 model year.

 

Do you know starting from which VIN was it fixed?

 

I don't think I have the grind. I did grind it once when it was hot but wasn't sure if it was the problem or my fault. My tranny is deffinitely noisy though. I have run it hard alot and other than that one time I havn't had any problems. I do have a pretty late vin too.

 

I understand that the grind was identified much earlier in Europe and Asia than here. Fixes were started there sooner and, hopefully, the problem was corrected before building began on MY '01. Knock on wood, my '00 has yet to display any of these problems; I hope that continues.
