I have 17,000 miles on and already switched to full synthetic for some time now,
I think that the oil consumption is a little bit more noticeable now than before, and that is when smashing the accelerator

Gentlemen, what beets me, is Honda's intention by publishing an Oil consumption service bulletin to calm the crowds as being something normal.
Suckers! How does the s2000 keep the Low Emissions Rating if it burns all that oil? Where is all that oil going? Why is it normal to burn oil regardless of driving preference? If this was meant to be why not add a bigger oil pan to support enough oil until the next oil change, or even better why not adding a little compartment as 2 stroke engines to put extra oil so that it adds it as needed?
Don't you guys think this was normal it should have been taken care while testing?
I think Honda wants to keep it cool since fixing 15000 engines still on warranty and a reputation to save is worth a little lying.
I say we write a nasty formal letter, run it by a lawyer and send it to Honda with hundreds of signatures requiring action or protection.

I have a 01 with 30,000 miles and it still burns almost 1 qt of 10w30 each month but a lot less when switched to synthetic. I do oil changes every 3-4 months w/ 3000 miles. Is this normal?

On a side enote, how do you guys check your oil? On most cars I check the oil after the engine is warmed up and shutoff the engine and wait for 2 minutes before checking the oil. Is this the right way to do it on the S?

Mine burns zero. I just realized today when I was cleaning under the hood that I haven't unscrewed my oil cap yet.
I think it helps if you kiss your dash every now and again
