2002 S2000 Will Be Available
The Stag was a fantastic looking up-market sports car that suffered from problems with the aluminium head distorting. I only ever drove a couple. The gear change was a struggle as I remember.

Sounds like a neat car. I always thought those Triumph TR6s were great looking. My cousin used to own a 74 TR6 but god rid of it because it was too diffuclt to maintain. Check out the off topic forum. I started a thread on British roadsters.

Triumph Stag - Always had serious problems with its rear axle I heard. It was notorious for failures.
Apart from that and the gear change issue, and the engine problems, and it used to rust just beautifully...
It was a very nice car - The only one I really liked.
As for the MG...
When I was at University I told my new girlfriend that I could drive ( As a joke) then we took her father's handbuilt MG and went to a party - Left the car in a car park. She got drunk and I was asked to drive home. I tried to decline and in the end agreed to move the car to a safer spot in the car park and call a cab.
That was a big mistake - I put it into reverse and hit the accelerator too hard - panicked - floored it - And shot back through two trees. Both wing mirrors were snapped off and I stopped 45 feet behind where I started with the car facing 90 degrees away.
That MG cost me my grant to repair (I destroyed the gearbox).
So I think MG's are out (Overdrive and all).
As for the Spitfire it was always a little too cute for a 6ft bloke.
Sam.

As a side note on the Stag, I joined their club in the 70's and received a wonderful welcome letter. The second letter I received from the club asked me if I wanted to join a class action law suit over the over-heating/blown-head gaskets/warped heads issue. That gives you a warm feeling. It was fairly common in the States to drop a small American V8 in place of the original.
Thank goodness the #4 cylinder problem for the S2000 seems to be very limited in number. . . for a few brief days there I thought the S might stand for Stag! But Honda is definitely not BMC, or BL, or whatever.

This whole story is about as thin as a piece of foldable glass.
We will all KNOW the truth soon...very soon...hold on...
All except for the BS line about THIS being the last year (same one they told me about the 2000 and 2001 year models being the very very last years at the dealership. I guess whatever tactic sells the cars is their motto.
Good thing for me that I just LOVED the car and didnt give a rat's ass that it would or wouldnt be made another year.
