[QUOTE=PJCC,Sep 18 2007, 04:37 PM] For the track, go with the cheapest option.

[QUOTE=PJCC,Sep 18 2007, 12:34 PM] Well, AP1's V-tec engagement point is at 6,500rpms. So, you use it for 2,300rpms.
AP2's engage V-tec at 5,800rpms.

6500? That's news to me, VTEC comes in at 6k (still later than it should) on my car, and I thought AP1's were rev limited at ~9200. Anyway, at least 3000rpm in VTEC, vs. 2200 for AP2 assuming you're right that it comes in at 5800 (which is also news to me, but I've never driven an AP2 so I wouldn't know).

Anyway, the greater torque and slightly greater hp of the AP2 vs. the AP1's greater rpm "headroom" is obviously a wash since both cars have practically identical 1/4-mile E.T.'s and trap speeds.
Great comeback!!!

Anyway, the deal is that both the V-tec engegement points and the redline were changed.

Why are people so bothered when someone asks a question, even if it is a repost. Ignore the thread if you don't feel like providing useful information. The OP said he/she is aware of the differences and has done their research, but merely wants more subjective opinions. Although many people do, I personally don't see anything wrong with that. You can never have too much information.

OP, if this is your daily driver, find out which suits your needs better. Drive them again if you have to. I am realistically a couple of years away from buying my dream S2000. I might get impatient and buy a mint AP1, they are no less of a car. Each time I see an AP2 though, I am reminded how much better it looks. As bias as my opinion may seem, I am still on the fence. On one hand, I could potentially get my S2000 earlier with some sacrifice and trade it in later on for an AP2. Or I could wait 3 years and buy the one I want for sure. I am young and salivating at the chance of owning one, ANY S2000. An S2000 is an S2000 deep down. This car is meant to be driven.
