Default 2003 s2000 eps computer repair

I’m having issues with my Honda S2000’s Electric Power Steering (EPS) system, and unfortunately, Honda no longer provides replacement EPS control units. I’m looking for a trusted shop or individual who can repair or rebuild the EPS computer.

Details about my car:

• Year & Model: [s2000 2003]

• Symptoms: EPS light is on, intermittent power steering loss when driving slow, restart engine and eps works fine

• Troubleshooting Done: local dealer did diagnostics and found error code for faulty eps computer

I’ve seen some people mention that certain shops or individuals specialize in refurbishing these units. If anyone has recommendations for EPS rebuild services or knows where to source a working unit, I’d really appreciate it!

No personal experience with this company but saw it advertised on NSX and S2000 fb groups.

thank you. I contacted them and turns out they are the only resource and been successful at repairing with original parts for the past 14 years. He works with all the Honda dealers

How did this work for you? How long was the turnaround for that company to fix it and send it back? And did you then reset the neutral position or have the dealer do that?
We are having this problem too on our 2003 AP1, although intermittently - and we haven't had the dealer identify the EPS computer as the issue - yet.
But I did obtain a second EPS computer to use as a core, so that we don't have to have the car with no EPS computer for some length of time as the repair shop works on it. And I also bought an AP1-specific steering torque sensor assembly (gear and sensor) to have a spare for that. As you may have seen in a search across S2KI, that may need a cleaning. This is also specific to the AP1 only... I took apart one from an AP2 to see how it looks inside and cleaning it would be a nit. Getting it off the car and back in is a bigger piece of work.

Thanks in advance...!

Call Charles Brown @662-416-5459. Nsxrackrepair.com
I sent my eps computer to him and he repaired it. Honda dealer removed and installed the repair. Tested and all passed. Said I may need a torque sensor repaired. Charles said he is setting that up so if it goes, he can repair. Because I am in Hawaii it took about 2 weeks shipping back and forth. Charles repaired in a few days. I highly recommend.

Where are you located, I might have one for sale, it has just been sitting in my garage for a while \. I kept as a spare, but want to try on your car before actually selling for good measures. I am pretty sure it still works
