you know what is funny.
the specs of the C6 Z06 (rumor but a very good one)
2800lbs 450HP
that's right....s2000 weight with 450HP and 450lb/ft of torque!!
that gives it a power to weight ratio much better then the 2003 viper
the C6 Z06 won't be out until 2005 at the earliest

I've always thought they were cool, but I fell in love with the Tiger when I was in college at Washington State University. Mike Price, the football coach, used the same mechanic I did and Mike's Tiger "project car" was housed at the mechanic's shop. I crawled around that car everytime I took mine in for a checkup...and sometimes made up reasons to stop by the shop...

I admit, shoving a V-8 in the S2000 would TOTALLY throw off the balance and make it a car I wouldn't probably enjoy as one that's balanced as well as the stock car...but it WOULD be a hell of a good time to play with!!

The July 24-30 issue of Auto Express (Great Britain) states the following:

"... mounting pressure in the roadster market is forcing Honda to up the stakes-and how! The firm is to launch a hot Mugen special editon of the S2000 for the UK- and it will be an extreme version of the already impressive standard car. Thanks to a new exhuast system, replacement air filter and a stripped down weight-saving cabin, drivers will enjoy explosive performance. The car's 0-60 sprint is expected to beat the standard roadster's 6.2 sec. Power will also be up on the current car's 237bhp with the Mugen breaking the 250 barrier. The special edition will be based on the concept version that appeared at the Geneva Motor Show two years ago and will have new alloys as well as an imposing rear wing. The Mugen S2000 could hit the UK roads as early as next year."

Nothing wrong with the Prelude, but -- unique?

The NSX and the S2000 are limited production, hand-built cars, but how nice of you to concede that the S2000 belongs in the special class occupied by the Prelude and NSX.

Not sure what criteria makes the Prelude unique...?

As I see it, the only thing that it has in common with the NSX or S2000 is that Honda is the manufacturer.

Not a slam...just confused...
