If mother Honda (Japan) has made any decisions about the 2004 model S2000 then I seriosuly doubt they would be sharing with AHM and asking them to release it!

ending the S2000 means withholding the value of our cars. if the S2000 becomes a long-run production car (like the NSX), we can expect these babies to start depreciating like the NSX (under 40% of original value!). i never said i want the S2000 to be like the NSX. the NSX's 10+ year model run was a shame. they ruined the value of that car. it doesn't turn heads like it used to.

I doubt that Honda will totally redesign the S for 04. We saw a minor facelift in 02. With limited production I don't see them doing it. i HOPE they would it would great to have an all new S.
My guess is some interior upgrades, some new body panels, and a tuned version of the current engine.

My favorite color is that the golden/orange color that they make in japan, I had a shop spec the job of switching the colors and it was about 7000 or so with me stripping a good chunk of the car down.
), I don't see any reason to redesign it. Yes Honda redesigns cars like the Civic and Accord at 4 year intervals. But there is a lot more competition in these segments than the S2000 has. And Honda did leave the Integra and NSX untouched for ages. From what I hear, the NSX blew the supercar world away when it was introduced. Perhaps it will get a big performance boost with the redesign, therefore leaving room for the S2000's to grow too. IF it really is redesigned, I just hope that it won't lose it's bang-for-the-buck factor. The S2k really offers a ton of performance for the price and I don't want that price going out my reach.
Now don't take my post above wrong. I do think the S2000 will eventually get re-designed, but at that point I think it will become an Acura -- here in the North America. Here is what I think will happen (reposted from a previous thread):
Once the Honda S2000 goes away (a few years down the road), it will be re-introduced as a new Acura model with more displacement and a price tag in the mid $40s (as well as increased creature comforts and a less racecar-like feel in the handling and ride). I also expect it will have a new iVTEC engine but not a V6. Everyone expects Honda to upgrade the S2000, but I honestly don't think we'll see that. Acura dealers were very upset the car did come with an A badge, and I expect they will get the re-designed S2000. It makes sense because people in the US will only pay so much for "just a Honda" (which I agree is ironic and dumb) so increasing the cost of the car will push into the Acura camp (and make them happy). Around the same time the Prelude (or CRX, etc.) will be introduced back into the Honda line-up. Remeber you heard it from me first...

If you treasure your S2000 so much and the way it is, don't sell your car. If you're not going to sell your S2000, why worry about depreciation?
Seems like everytime we have a discussion about the S2000's future, most owners don't want it changed. How do you think the 2003 model buyers are going to react as soon as the 2004 redesigned model, perharps engine improved, comes out?
