2007 Honda s2000 blown engine STOCK
you have a newer model honda..all hondas starting i think MY03+ have a 60,000 powertrain warranty. honda usually still honors the warranty if you're maybe 2-3k miles over the warranty (from my experience).

the car is hovering at 61.5k miles. I really, really hope I can get this fixed. I really cannot afford to have any kind of car repair bill on top of my bills, even if I have to pull from my emergency savings.
this is off topic, but why would you take a turn in neutral...
if you bought the car as-is...sounds like you are in the mercy of the dealership. and if they don't fix it for you, you are shit out of luck.
sorry to hear.

Why not? I just braked and took the turn in neutral.. I was cruising not racing.
I hope I am not shit out of luck. I am pretty sure you'd be quite upset if you bought a 2007 s2000 with 61k miles from a dealership and it blew on you 3 days later.. I mean something else going wrong is fine, but the entire motor dying? That is unheard of

Also white smoke prior to the purchase of the car indicates that there was an issue prior to purchase even though I was promised by every personnel at the dealership that the vehicle went through a '150-point inspection upon delivery.' Clearly if a compression test was done they would have found that the head gasket was bad - then they would have fixed it and put it up for sale instead of frauding me by telling me the vehicle was in good running condition.
My attorney says that I might have a case here. let's hope I don't have to pay any legal fees to fix this crap - knowing a dealership though they won't do anything until they have a lawsuit knocking at their door so I might have to pay a pretty penny just get the ball rolling.

lol this dealership is telling you some craaaaazy stuff.
Even if the engine is seized, DO NOT pay $12k in repairs. That's insane. F22C longblocks with low miles are like $2-3k. The installation should cost about $1k or so at most shops.
The engine does not hold 7 freaking quarts of oil. WTF? It's 5.X quarts. The dipstick wouldn't really read anything if there was only 1/2qt left in the engine. Your oil light would have also come on for a little while before the engine shut off if it was oil starved.
Also, you don't need synthetic oil in a S2000. Putting in regular dinosaur oil won't make the engine seize. I believe they come with regular oil from the factory. If you get your oil changed at Honda, I'm almost positive they just use regular oil in it also.
It's strange that it just seized up like that. Maybe there was some under lying damage before you bought the car.
If you've confirmed that it's seized...don't bother with a rebuild. Just buy a used long block.

B serious..
Had one question - My car was exhuming alot of white smoke during start-up's since the purchase. I've confirmed that this is due to a bad head gasket which could cause water/coolant to get into the oil. Could this cause the engine to seize up??
let me know, thanks
