"Had a friend did that once. She filled it all the way to the valve cover. It will causes thick white smoke fume coming out your tailpipe; foul your spark plugs; better drain your excess oil now than wait for engine gasket leak. once excess oil is drained check oil dipstick; add oil little bit at a time until proper level shows on dipstick. "

Also, this could explain the white smoke protruding from my car as mentioned. Need input guys, much appreciated.

Yes, I am 100% certain about the ECU dumping. I know for a fact that they claimed to have this 'paperwork' ready but when I went to pick it up/have it faxed, they said it is unavailable and that they will 'try' again with their '20 year veteran' honda technician. God damnit, why did I leave the car with them!!!!!

oil overfill could be your ticket out of this.

Yes, but what is the EXACT amount of oil that is to be added to the car? It is 5.1 quarts, correct? Please correct me if I am wrong - the complications from oil overfill are defining EVERY issue I've had with the car.

Ok, so the exact oil for a s2000 is 5.1 quarts.. This is just one of many possibilities. However, the motor is 'seized' which is rare for a car with 'too much' oil. We will see tomorrow will get more pics/videos up tomorrow for you guys to diagnose/and will pass them out at honda dealerships to various technicians for more diagnosis.

5.1 is exact, but depending on the size of the oil filter, etc it may be up to 5.5L. Definitely nowhere close to 7L.

Did you really buy the car "AS IS?" AS IS is a legal term in the car industry, and if you did sign something with the words AS IS on it, you are SOL whether it was your fault or not. If you DID NOT sign AS IS paperwork, stop dancing around the issue and get a lawyer. There is no way around it. Furthermore, I would contact Honda directly.

[QUOTE=s2kPA,Mar 12 2010, 01:31 PM]I’ve read quite a few post telling the op to contact Honda and/or inquire about the150 point inspection.
Why?

True if he bought the car as is well then that should cover the car, But if the culprit was an oil overfill well then thats not the car thats a technician whose at fault , oil overfill is just as bad as low oil , The one major problem that the op did was to leave the car with said dealer, i understand he had to bring it back there but i would have thought twice about leaving it with them to diagnose, im sorry i feel really bad for you but if the dealer can at this point in time schemme their way out of this mess im sure they will,... plus 12k in damages is a hella lot , especially for a motor , at that point you could buy a spoon built motor to drop in it haha. they got the money for the car and now want more money to fix their mess.

With a filter change the car will take 6 quarts with no problem.
