350Z or S2000

Agreed. And we really don't mean this as a knock on you. But most S2000 owners I know did very little comparo's (vs say Z3's, Boxster's etc...) before they pulled the trigger on the S2000 purchase.

People can talk stats, talk smack, do whatever they want about two different cars. It'll come down to what you like about them, ultimately. Get test drives, see what makes you happy. That's the only way.
I like the Z, or what I've seen of it so far anyway. I think if you want a roadster, leaning toward the S2000 is a good idea, since it was designed to be a roadster. I don't know if the Z was, since it is a hardtop first. But who knows, it could end up a very solid chop-top.
There MAY be a lot of Zs on the road, but one thing to consider--if you're thinking about originality--is that the Z platform is shared among a few Nissans, whereas the S2000's is not. The Infinity G cars use it, which isn't bad, it just takes away from the "originality" factor, if you care about that kind of thing. (I don't, really...)
The G35 coupe will be a cool car, but what's funny is that I think the Z's power will be higher. (Usually the upper-eschelon divisions reserve the right to the bigger engines, but...)
Also, the new Skyline will have the same platform. Price is a lot different (obviously), as is performance (the S2000 won't even come close), but.....

Don't buy a hot looking, great handling convertible from a mfg. with a better reputation that is in limited production, and is holding resale value very well (when compared to MSRP).
Yeah right.
ok i kno u all like the s cuz its sleek and looks better than the 350z but wha if u can get a kit like the one in the pic, would u change ur mind?(c-west kit) then i hear rumors of twin turbos:-D sounds like a wet dream to me
p.s. i hear the kit will be carbon fiber and wind tunnel tested

Now is a bad time to get the Z due to the dealer markups. I would wait until next year (when bugs and recalls are done) and buy at sticker. With the larger production of these cars there WILL be a greater aftermarket parts market making this a tuners dream.
I'm seeing the old $500-6000 BUY MY PLACE IN LINE on ebay like they did with the S2000. I personally waited 8 months to get a 2000 @ MSRP. I can't see paying over sticker cause that money is just GONE.

Resale value = that phrase used by people who can't actually afford the car they're driving.
Seriously though, why not wait till the 350Z is out. It's a great value for the money, and will have tons of torque.
I almost bought one. I went with the S2000 because I couldn't wait any longer though.
I will, however, be picking up a GTR as soon as they go on sale (probably still a couple of years off).
