... nothing but smiles for all of those miles.
I changed gear oil at 1,000 miles on the gear set and will prolly change again now that we're about to hit 10K on these lovely 4.56's ... I just drove a friends AP1 without gears and by seat of the pant's my car feels like it pulls harder & faster ... noticeably so.

that sucks... unless i guess you had them drop the diff. for you also. i dropped my diff. myself and called around and most places wanted around $250 to install the gears..
Not trying to hijack the OP...but I am about to install the 4.56 and was going to order the parts through the honda dealer until i remembered that Rick's does sale the installation parts for like $150. Just wonder if that all i need or do i need to order extra parts...like extra shim set or something? thanks.
The installer should souce and supply the shim. Only he will know what the correct size shim. Our parts kit is the pinion bearings, seal, disance piece and lock nut. So leave the shim up to your installer. If not, find another installer. I think Todd does gear installs does he not?

I have them on for 1.000 km. now.
4.56 is fun to drive, although i have some whining problems, especially when i let the gas and the rpm are between 3-4 k.
Well i guess is the bad installation that makes the whining. The installer didn't use a micrometer at all, only a torque tool. His excuse when i asked him was: here in Greece we don't use micrometers, we measure it by sight and feeling!!!
