4.57 in car run, and a launch video
don't mean to go off subject, but wanted to ask if its true that when launching an s2k the rpm's will drop when releasing the clutch and the car will just kind of bogg of feel a little shakey. is this true because i saw it somewhere on a thread. i know launching the s2k is not good for the car, but i like to know if my car is able to launch.

OK, I've been reading this thread for a while so here, respectfully, is my 2 cents: Good journeyman shifting, period. I don't understand the fuss over someone being able to shift up through the gears quickly. But then my first car was 4-speed all non-synchro and since then, in 40 years of driving, I've never bought an automatic except Tiptronic. So maybe my problem (among a host of others) is that I just assume people with performance transmissions know how to shift. Anyway, if you want to impress me post video of yourself downshifting from 6 to 2 at speed, preferably with dire consequences for failure.

if you launch correctly, as seen in the launching video, your rpms will dance above 6000rpms the entire time, and by the time the tires stop spinning, they will have come back down to around the 6000rpm mark.

if you bog, then you launched improperly.

Sorry for my lack of clarity. I meant 6-5-4-3-2 from say, about 140 mph into a 35 mph hairpin in 1,000 feet or so. That's the video I want to see.
at the moment i have the comptech reinforced diff.
however, i did over 1000 launches on the stock diff on my first S2000, and i had over 500 launches on the stock diff on this one with no problems at all. if done properly, this car can take launching with no problem (assuming there is no manufacturer defect)
