How many of you, prior to attempting high speed runs, actually checked your tire pressures, suspension, etc prior to the run? Not to mention cleared the road beforehand?

trying going to montana, CA. i have heard there is no speed limit there.
My father retired in Billings; used to spend the summer up there before graduation. Sorry- speed limit is now restricted, plus when it was WOT it was up to the police to say if you were going too fast. like if you were going 65 in a yugo - unsafe! =ticket. With 9-11 it seems like they have double the amount of police in my area; No top speed checks here.

Did 150mph with the top down and a passenger, 153mph (on a different day) with the top up. Both times the engine was revving at 8k rpm (maybe a bit over that), and decided to slow down as my exit was approaching, car could still pull, but very slowly.
