You my friend is what we all need in this world , someone who understands the how an y of things > In general I agree with what u say . Its not "you" im talking abt here or any other person in this post ...I don't listen to what ppl say I watch what they do ...AND THE NEW YOUNGER S OWNERS ARE IN MANY WAYS WHAT WE DON'T WANT . Point is you worked hard and deserve to drive what ever u want , but that's not that case with many younger owners. No one ever said "ALL" younger ppl are one thing ...but if u think abt it whens the last time u saw a 40yr + yr old with the "hella flush" look ... my point is younger owners often destroy their cars with after market crap. its not to say the S can't be improved for track use of course it can ...I meant for all around use ..like a drive for 100 miles just because u want to drive. Anyone can do what they want to the cars they own ..doesn't make it wrong ...they just often look hella dumb ...and i'm sure the crowd i'm talking abt doesn't care one bit abt SCCA ...get my drift their sonny ....If I met you i'd be happy to see you owned an S ...but if you said to me ...Sup YO dat be one bangin wheel YO ...Slam dat biacth Hella Flush ...i'd think a diff ...want some more examples ..YO

I am 20 years old. I paid for my S half upfront and have a loan for the rest. I am paying $400 a week towards my car.
I am not ignorant, I am not a mommas boy, I am not uneducated. I am 3/4 of the way to completing my mechanical engineering degree. I have a fulltime job as an engineer at a worldwide machinery manufacturing company. I have more knowledge and experience than most of the 40+ yr old engineers I work with. I have 2 employees working under me. At the age of 12 my best friend and I filed for a legal business permit to legitimize our landscaping and construction company. For 7 years I worked my ass off without the help of my parents to pay for the things I needed.

For 2 years I was vice-president of the University of Massachusetts Lowell's Formula SAE team. I designed, tested, and helped fabricate our 2010 Car's chassis, pedal box, engine mounts, torsen differential, suspension, and uprights. Being an engineer, I have a deep respect and appreciation for the incredible engineering that composes the S2000, which is one of the main reasons I decided on this car. Not because i wanted to pick up girls or drift or become hellaflush.

I keep my car in check on the streets. I do my racing at the track. I am a member of the scca and intent to attend the rest of the autox's this season.

I also slightly disagree with those who keep their S stock and take honda's engineering as god-say. Yes, the car was great from factory, but I will also consider that Spoon, J's Racing, and Mugen also spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in R&D to take honda's design even further to optimize their track cars. And if ASM decides that making the car lower, installing coilovers and an exhaust and racing seats etc makes a better race car, I will take their word for it because they sure as hell know what they're doing.
If you are reading on a site like S2Ki.com instead of trying to decide which chrome wheels you want to get from Pep Boys that puts you in the minority of your generation....some 20 year olds ARE much more mature...others are out smoking pot and bashing mail boxes. There are exceptions to every generalization.

Just turned 23 here. Got the car as an early graduation gift (I guess?) but I still have to pay up in order to keep the car. Don't mind that fact since I have such a small amount for student loans.

I thought the older generation, being the more mature one, would KNOW not to turn this thread into an argument (with the presumed to be immature) younger generation.

I guess theres a kid in all of us

Old people generally detest whatever young people do. I'll agree with the part about people being cheap-asses about car parts. Mods for this car aren't expensive unless you want to go jdm. As for stance/stretch /poke/hellaflush, that's just user preference.

society is downgrading...it's undeniable.
People have always been stupid. Every generation thinks that things are far worse with the generation after them. It's simply a matter of perspective. I can't do simple math these days and I was a math champ (literally competed and placed many times) as a kid. That really doesn't prove anything one way or the other. Determining whether or not society is actually on the decline requires better investigation than that.

There are just a lot of people now...period. What are we up to, 7 billion? The more people there are, the better chance you have of meeting plenty of dumb ones.
