I also slightly disagree with those who keep their S stock and take honda's engineering as god-say. Yes, the car was great from factory, but I will also consider that Spoon, J's Racing, and Mugen also spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in R&D to take honda's design even further to optimize their track cars. And if ASM decides that making the car lower, installing coilovers and an exhaust and racing seats etc makes a better race car, I will take their word for it because they sure as hell know what they're doing.
Great post! I couldn't agree more with that last paragraph. If Honda's R&D is as perfect as some people on here claim, how does ASM build an S2000 that laps Tsukuba 15 seconds faster than an OEM S2000?

24 young lady here.
u should have added men/women.
its interesting to see some of the posts.
at the end of the day, someone should be able to do whatever they wish to their car
as long as they enjoy it.
everyone has their own tastes.
ive always had a problem with ppl telling me... o, you are just a young girl (this is from i was
13) who likes pretty cars its a phaze and you will grow out of it.
ppl like that dont understand what a real car enthusiast is.
yes you'll have the teenage boy who drives and crashes his s2000 within a year to look cool and get
girls.
but then you have the ppl who will never grow out of it, cause it is a true love.
something you can find comfort in, enjoyment in and is probably the only material thing
that can make you feel the way you do no matter how it looks in someone elses eye.
you cant put an age or maturity level on that.

Exactly. Honda built an actual car for the roads that can be taken to the track. ASM's S2K is a full track car. Considering Honda has had success in Formula One and supplies all engines for Indy cars, I think they have highly capable R&D.
Having said that, my S2K has wheels, springs, exhaust, etc. that I love.

The stock suspension on the s2000 is better than I previously suspected. I was at a track a few weeks ago and I bet I could set the same times as guys with coilovers, even with just OEM pads and rotors.
