Are aggressive offsets the "new rice"...

I just don't understand why you want to do this to the S. It just looks so bad, and reminds me of all the wanna be low riders around. I seriously can't wait for this look to die like the altezzas.
When artists draw concept cars, they draw them with no ground clearance and large wheels that are close to the fenders. It looks great and gets people excited for the cars to come out, then when the real deal is brought out with 16's and a "functional" ride height, everyone starts bitching about how ugly it looks.

I can understand when people say they don't enjoy the look for performance or practicality reasons but how can you say that it "looks so bad"?

But we do have opinions and this thread was made to express them regarding the route you and many others like yourself have taken with the S. We also appreciate you backing up and explaining the the reasons you chose to take your S in that direction in a mature manner other than the usual immature "you're a hater" response that continues with a couple of cuss words and E-thugging BS that would get this thread locked at the least.
For that I can respect the route you have taken...But will still have my opinions regardless. I just hope others that have chosen your direction in styling and modifying their vehicles react in the same manner.
What looks so bad, is the way the tires look on the rims, and the camber that is just pointless for actual driving. It's my opinion about the looks of it, and as far as concepts go, even that look doesn't appeal to me. I can't remember ever seeing a concept of a car with stretched tires and camber looking like a 45 degree angle. You decide what to do with your car, because it's your car. Just giving my thoughts on this "fad" like the OP asked. Thanks

In other news, I'm now tucking 18x11 +13 with a 295/30/18. I'm thinking about running a 325/315 setup just for fun. Bodyshop's working on the flare and radius.
...so you need that much tire why?? Looks? It's seriously going to look like a funny car from the back.

Even if you had enough power to need that kind of tire width, the extra rubber wouldn't make a difference with how much camber you'll need to fit that. Not to mention your wacky suspension geometry preventing you from controlling the power.
Besides, once you start getting into the 300s in tires, prices skyrocket. Good luck eating up those $400 tires with your "aggressive" aligment. At least people will see you have deep pockets if you run it on a regular basis.
This just makes no logical sense to me. I guess I'm not cool enough to get this fad.
Edit: Oh, and alexisthemovie gets credit for being mature about this and participating in the discussion, instead of pulling the "haters" card. We may disagree on this, but I can at least respect your opinion.
Alexisthemovie apparently runs on air-bag suspension. He's pretty set on making the S2000 as wacky as you can get. If that's his thing, then let it be.
The thing I hate is when the hellaflush crew will make it seem as its Track whores vs them. Or when someones gives a negative opinion about their car, all of the sudden they are "haters."
Like I said before, hellaflush lovers shouldn't get butthurt about what others thinks. I mean come on, they post on a forum where 99% of the members care about enjoying the car for what it was originally meant for.

OMG HATERZ.
Silly me, I nearly forgot how making a well-supported logical argument against something makes me a "hater".
This made me think, I wonder how it would go over if our legal system used this "hater" logic...
Lawyer 1: ...and that is why my client didn't commit the murder.
Lawyer 2: What about all the DNA evidence that shows he did?
Lawyer 1: Your honor! The prosecution is clearly hatin'.
Judge: Let the record show the prosecution is a hater, therefore nothing he says may be taken seriously. Case dismissed.

To each his own. Do to your car what you will, as long as it does not put others at risk.
Now what I do hate (that word!
), oh ok, dislike, is automatically being lumped in with the hellaflush crowd when somebody learns I own an S2000. And then having to take the the time to explain, "No, my car does not look like that..."

By the way, I do enjoy driving also, that's how I built my last S2K. I just get my driving kick from Karting now.
