^I'm gonna do it for the induction noise on the FIPK The OEM being so pricey is just gonna push me over faster.

what about that filter testing they did a few years ago and decided that the APEXI air filter allowed more air with best filtration. compared to k&n greddy etc.....
Oh hey, you must be talking about this site http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/. The APEXI is the best at filtering and allowing more air in. 2nd came in K&N. But I chose K&N because for 1) they wouldn't be around if their filters were blowing up motors left and right and 2) K&N is reusable. I'm not sure if the APEXI is reusable and/or if they make one for our S2K, though I could be wrong.

Wish that APEXI would just make a drop in air filter for our cars and make it reusable at the same time.

i see i see...thanks for the response...im just gonna stick with stock air filters
Good choice
K&N's S2000 drop in filter is a total piece if $hit.
The cone frame is junk (I had little chunks of plastic hanging from the frame and the mesh screen had imperfections that would affect flow and filteration, the actual cotton filter area is much smaller then oem due to the frame black plastic frame extending into the filter media area where they bond together, and like everyone else said they have less filtering capability.
I also agree that AFE makes a better drop in filter then K&N. I was so disappointed with the K&N I bought the AFE right away hoping it would be better and it was.
The AFE has a nice aluminum cone lid, the overall construction quality was superior and it could be my imagination but the AFE blew away the K&N performance-wise after a test run.
Not all K&N products suck,I'm now running a K&N filter in an aftermarket intake setup but I don't recommmend the S2000 drop in filter.
If I was still running the stock airbox I'd be using the oem filter.

engine oil may capture what a filter does not no dought about that, but how many times do you think that uncatched dirt will run threw your engine before you get to 3000 miles? well for most people now running synthetic 5k+ before they change there oil
There a thing on your engine that is called A FREAKING OIL FILTER that can filter out finer particles than an air filter could.
