How much the DEH-P520 with adaptor cost? Hopeful for an answer if you're comfortable sharing this info.

2x6spds,

No problem, paid $440. Breakdown is as such:

Head Unit: $255 (cheapest on line I could find was $259)
Mod: $130
Remote: $20
Cell Mute: $35

The cell mute is sweet. With the top down and something blasting on the radio it was impossible to hear the phone, problem solved, phone rings, stereo mutes, I pick up!
Everything works as it did before except for one thing. The remote for the Pioneer has two different buttons for changing radio station and for changing CD track so I could only bind ONE of those to the dash button which changes them. I cycle through radio stations more often than CD tracks so I went that way. If I want to change the cd track I have to open the door. Otherwise everything works as it always did.

Pinky, are you trying to tell me that your mod IS the SWI-3 with the required modification for the mode button to work?

What I am saying is that if you hook up the mod like PAC tells you to....it most likely WON'T work.

Sheez you guys.

You got two choices. Either get Pinky to supply and wire it at his price, or get it yourself, do it yourself, and don't ask for support. Is it really that hard?

There are those out there that find the idea of 'lectricity completely bamboozling. For them, it's worth Pinky's price.

There are others who know Planck's constant off by heart and have no problem wiring stuff. DIY!

And there are those like me who, although I have no problem looking up Planck's constant, and wiring up anything from houses to vibrators, would much rather have Pinky do it and get on with my job, which pays way more than I could save by DIY SW3's.

Well put, AusS2000

how about a change in direction- Any more info on the Alpine adapter that was talked about awhile back? Has anyone been able to "plug-in" a new Alpine head unit and use the dash controls yet (without any IR eyes sticking out from anywhere)? Now THAT'S the mod I'm looking for....
