Yeah the shocks are softer -- using the lower perch lowers the car about 1/2". Keep in mind that changing springs takes you into a different class in SCCA.
koni's are softer than stock shocks? i am running koni shocks and espelirs, with some very high stiffness settings in the front and rear (mainly so it doesn't rub too much) and i love the handling. feels much more stable and controlled than stock. also, lowers my car by 1.3 inches (espelir springs)

If you're feeling spendy; Spoon Fixed Dampers + Spoon Progressives. 1" drop all the way around.

i don't know if this is true with s2000's, but Megan coilovers are manufactured from the same people that Apex-I use to make their coilovers, and they have the same specs, looks and practically the quality at a fraction of cost.

Swift springs are great, since I believe they're linear springs and it doesn't mess with the suspension geometry by lowering almost same on front and rear.

I'm going with Tein Flex or Bilstein PSS9 coilovers.

Cheap = Crap, as usual...

This is true.
Just get coilovers or leave it stock.

So does using the lower perches on the Konis.

Yeah, there are a lot of racers that actually like the fact that the Konis are a little softer, they say that to them it makes the car more predictable and thus easier to drive consistently ... basically what you said.

I have also heard good things about Swift springs, any one else have any first hand experience with them? I currently have a set of Tein S-techs, but not sure if I should go with the swift springs instead,
I have swifts with koni yellows and am very happy with it. I really have no desire to go lower than the around 1" drop that it has given me. Having not had coilovers on any car that I have owned, I really dont have a direct comparison,but I am extremely happy with this setup.

KG/MM SuperSport,+ Koni Yellow.!!!

But it will end up costing you as much as coilovers.
KG/MM has been bought out by Swift;Don't know,if quality and perf.are still on par...

go coilovers, if you got springs and didnt like it, then you would have to spend more money to get coilovers, i love my PSS9 and they are not $2000
